run devil run- a kpop misandry mix
new mix!!! and it isn’t a mix of songs with ~powerful concepts~ or songs about using your sexy wiles to control a man, though i love that shit too. it is literally a bunch of girls singing about what pieces of shit men are. and there’s plenty of brown eyed girls, because duh, no one derides men more than BEG.
can’t catch me, aka: what you missed while you were frozen, aka: the bucky barnes misery tour 2014 mix
i put this up like 2 weeks ago and forgot to post it here. it’s a behemoth of madness— 50 songs, 3+ hours, in (mostly) chronological order, from 1948 to 2013. it’s equal parts a roadtrip mix sam would make for his and steve’s search for bucky, a mix i would make for someone who was out of it for 70 years, and a maudlin steve & bucky fanmix (it devolves pretty quickly from song ~40) IDK who would listen to this all the way through but i made it and here it is~~~
rule of thumb for this mix was: if it doesn’t make me want to throw myself through a plate glass window, it doesn’t go on the mix SO ENJOY!!!
one. there there. (the boney king of nowhere)- radiohead

“in 1921, early suffragettes often donned a bathing suit and ate pizza in large groups to annoy men…it was a custom at the time”
oh tumblr journalism
this pic is most definitely NOT of early american suffragettes if it was taken in 1921— women in the united states had the right to vote by 1920 with the 19th amendment, so early suffragettes would’ve been some… 70 years earlier when bathing “costumes” were basically a knee-length dress with pants underneath.
it’s still a lovely picture of course— i just think that kind of false narrative devalues the actual story of what these women were up to. a quick google shows this picture is actually of a pie-eating contest in washington DC— in the back row of women you can see the blurry image of iola swinnerton, third from the right with the wrap on her head, who is in photos all over the internet from beach beauty contests in washington in the 1920s. there’s not much written information on iola but something about these pictures of her and other girls just hanging out on a beach nearly a century ago is so fascinating to me. they seem real in a way that is somehow surprising to me.
